All About Leather
Leather: qualities, properties, and terms
Types of Leather: exotics, lamb, goat, cow, synthetic, etc.
Natural Characteristics of Leather
The wide range of usages for leather, from Ancient Egypt, through the Middle Ages, till 2016
How the use of leather directs design and production process (this includes the range of uses in fashion, home, luxury goods)
Leather and the accessory market: parts of the animal in relation to design and function, provide visual examples
Leather trade shows and fairs; purchasing leather from the tannery, as opposed to a distributor (pro’s vs. con’s)
Pattern Making
Ways to make pattern by hands 
Pattern specification
Creation of hard paper patterns
Making modifications
Seam allowance
Trimming allowance and finishings
Students will create a pattern of the bag they will be making (soft paper)
Session 2: 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM
All About Machines

Students will thread the machine
Students will practice using the machine
Cutting and Sewing the Bag
Cutting the bag.  Bags will be cut previously
Sew the bag
